Once again, the EAPCCT looks forward to welcoming you to the beautiful Estonian capital Tallinn, for the 42nd International Congress of the EAPCCT from 24th to 27th May 2022.
This is our second attempt to hold our first congress in the Baltic states! We were so disappointed to cancel the 2020 congress there owing to the CV-19 pandemic and could not let this opportunity lapse. As a great deal of uncertainty remains over travel, testing and distancing measures we have several back-up plans incorporating hybrid or virtual options, but the Board intends to make the final congress format decisions in December 2021, after consideration of the prevailing and anticipated circumstances and discussions with all our partners. Our aim is a return to a full physical congress and to once again each other’s company without a digital interface!
Tallinn is a vibrant and enterprising city that sits on the shores of the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland. It has a long and remarkable history as a major trade hub dating from the 13th Century onwards. At the centre of the city is one of the world’s best-preserved medieval cities with its cobbled streets, ancient walls and turrets, old merchant houses, warehouses and various churches still intact. The city was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. Yet Tallinn also manages to be a bustling modern city, famous for its progressive outlook and for its leadership in modern technological industries. A major tourist destination with excellent connections Tallinn boasts fascinating museums, art galleries, theatres, great cuisine, hostelry and hospitality whilst the surrounding countryside and seas bring nature very close. It was the European Capital of Culture in 2011. Join us there for some great science and to explore!
The academic aspects of the EAPCCT Congress are being organised by the EAPCCT Board and Scientific and Meetings Committee who have prepared the following symposia which will be complemented by oral, short oral and poster presentations from submitted abstracts.
We very much encourage you to submit your work and original data as abstracts for the Tallinn Congress: we wish to include as many of your abstract submissions as we can for oral, short oral and poster presentation in the scientific programme.
- Abstract submission opens: October 2021
- Abstract submission closes: 25th October 2021
- Notification of abstract acceptance: by 24th January 2022
The Congress will be held at the Tallinn Kultuurikatel (Tallinn Creative Hub), a thrilling modern venue in a historic space with excellent facilities.
We intend to provide extended opportunities to network in the coffee breaks and lunches, at the Wednesday welcome reception to be held at the Energiakeskus (Energy Discovery Centre) and the Friday congress dinner which will take place at the Lennusadam (Seaplane Harbour), a notable maritime museum.
The congress will once again be organised by Grupo Pacifico, our experienced Professional Congress Organisers, whom many of you have met before.
We look forward to seeing you and to welcoming you for four days of stimulating company in Tallinn, Estonia.
Horst Theirmann - EAPCCT President
Lotte Høgberg - Chair, EAPCCT Scientific and Meetings Committee
Raido Paasma – EAPCCT Local Representative
